What hurts the most?

Everybody hurts but not everybody has hope. One summer a small-town church conducted a local survey with a simple question: What hurts the most? In just one week more than three hundred people sent in handwritten cards detailing deep pain and sorrow.
Based on a series of talks the author gave responding to the 6 most popular answers, each issue is unashamedly centred on the hope and healing that Jesus Christ alone can bring to our very deepest hurts.

The top six most popular responses to the survey were death, relationships, family, sickness, money worries, and negative emotions.

Rob Tervet, the author explains: ‘It was a very moving experience reading through the many responses to our survey and we knew we had to do something. We initially ran a series of talks called ‘There is hope’ where we addressed the six most popular responses. We don’t have all the answers but we believe there is hope and we want to share that hope. We finished the series of talks and people afterwards suggested that we make the material available in another format and so that is what we have done.
